~HOW IT BEGAN~

Demons. The creatures of nightmares. Before children go to bed, they're told of the cruelty, malice, and savagery of the demonic race. Legends are told of the power of demons, once they're praised by mortal men, in organized cults. Such legends record demons achieveing something akin to Godhood. Truly, the word "Demon" is something to be feared by all.

But those are just stories. Nobody would believe that Demons could actually exist in the world, right?


They were wrong.


In the year 1685, Karn'aska, the Demon of Emptiness, the first Demon, was created. Born of the absences in the world, he quickly grew in power, as everybody lacked something they wanted, save for perhaps the Elves and Dragons. But regardless, with his great power, he expanded his race. In 2066, 119 years ago, he sacrificed most of his pent up power in order to create Vischord, the Demon of Destructive Force. Before this demon, Karn'aska fell to one knee, and hailed him as King. And Vischord liked it. He was a natural ruler, perfect in his commands, and flawless in his corrupted judgement. This event, the bending of Karn'aska's knee led to the creation of a Demonic Covenant, a pact forged by Vischord to ensure the fealty of any demon born after him. This was his first and last flawed decision. Following this event, no demons were born for several hundred years.

2185. After much time in a realm located somewhere inbetween the Mortal world and the Elemental Planes, Vischord has succeeded in a several hundred year long plot to infect the Mortal world, allowing Demons to be created. And, with his collection of Demons, Vischord begins creating his final play. The conversion of the Dragons, who's hatred for the gods is equal to their own. The corruption of the elves, who's magic was far too powerful to let go to waste. The destruction of the other races, who were merely feeding the gods power. And, finally, the overthrowing of the gods. However, as he created this plan, Karn'aska, seeking not the destruction of the races, turned his back to Vischord, and fled. Certain stories tell that the demon entered the Mortal world, and manifested inside the sword of an elven warrior, granting him great power. Despite this setback, however, Vischord kept plotting.

2364, the current year. Vischord has finished his plan, and now simply waits. He has manifested in the Mortal world, and now hides away, waiting for his demons to rise. Through the struggles of good and evil factions, he waits. Through rain and snow, he waits. Through day and night...

He Waits.
